The Trekking Route 

In the beautiful Annapurna Base Camp trek, we walk through the foothills of the majestic Annapurna mountain. We drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu and then take a scenic drive to Nayapul.


Our Trekking journey starts from Nayapul to Tikhedhunga and then to Ghorepani and Poon Hill, which is an excellent viewpoint from sunrise. We leave Tadapani the next morning and rest for the day, only to leave for Chomrong next morning. 


After a trek of almost eight days, we arrive at the Annapurna Base Camp via Machhapuchhre Base Camp. After staying for some time at Annapurna Base Camp, observing the atmosphere and clicking pictures, we descend to Jhinu danda where we dip and relax at the famous hot springs. We trek back Nayapul and then drive back to Pokhara. 


Food and Accommodation in the Annapurna Base Camp Trek in March

The trekkers during March can find themselves in company with a lot of fellow trekkers. After the window of autumn months, March is the busiest in the region with lots of trekkers. There are necessary facilities of accommodation in the lodges, and teahouses all along the trail. For your safety, you should book early and enjoy your trek hassle-free. 


At these places, you get two separate beds, a warm blanket, and a common bathroom. You can also get other facilities like Hot water and Wi-Fi at lower elevations at an added price. Breakfast is pretty basic with some toast and boiled eggs served with either tea or coffee. For lunch and dinner, you get served with the typical Nepali “Dal Bhat”, which includes rice, pulses, spinach, lentils, pickles, and meat. “Dal Bhat” is a perfectly balanced diet that provides you with enough energy for the trek! 


You can get western and continental cuisines in case you are craving for some western foods in some of the lodges with high-end prices. It is advisable to carry Protein bars and snickers that give you instant energy during the trek.



Things to consider for Annapurna Base Camp Trek in March

Start your trek early 

You need at least 6-7 hours to complete the trek with some breaks in the middle. Starting the trek early helps you to reach your destination safe and sound. You also get ample time to trek at your own pace. 


Book your package early 

The most important thing to consider in the trek to Annapurna base camp is to book early. March is the beginning of the trekking season, and hence you can find trekkers flocking in the region. You can get the best packages, transport, meals and accommodation facilities along the trail. 


Hire a guide and a porter
