Normally people can do Annapurna Circuit Tilicho Lake Trek twelve days up to eighteen days. The trek starts from Lamjung District were driven from Kathmandu to Besisahar by car or by local bus exploring the view through the longest Marsyangdi river of Nepal.

This rewarding trek, provide many opportunities to explore the scenery of both the northern and southern Himalayan scenery. From thick fir and rhododendron forests to the harsh, thin atmosphere of the Tibetan plateau, the ethnic groups encountered, lowland Hindu and Highland Buddhists are the major ethnic group of the landscape.

Overview of the 18 Days Annapurna Circuit Tilicho Lake Trek

The Annapurna circuit Tilicho Lake trek passes along the Marsyangdi River and many Buddhist monasteries can be explored on the way.

 

Braga village and other villages are passed during this trek. The high point of the trek (Annapurna Circuit Tilicho Lake Trek) is Manang village which offers the best panoramic view of the Annapurna II, Annapurna III and Ganggapurna. Then hiking up to Thorung pass (5416m) trek to down Muktinath temple. The Muktinath temple is most famous for Vishnu’s sacred to both Hindu and Buddhist religion and many sadhu gather there.

 

Tilicho Lake is a lake located in the Manang district of Nepal, 55km as the crow flies from the city of Pokhara. It is situated at an altitude of 4,919m in the Annapurna range of the Himalayas and is known as the highest lake for its size in the world. There are even other lakes that are at higher altitude in Nepal. 

 

Another source lists the altitude of Lake Tilicho as being 4,949m. Tilicho Lake is the destination of one of the most popular side hikes of the Annapurna Circuit trek. 

 

The hike takes an additional 3 to 4 days. No camping is required, as new lodges have been built between Manang and the lake. The final approach to the lake is done in a day hike from the lodge at Tilicho Base Camp.

 

Tropical Kali Gandaki Gorge, a busy Pilgrimage and trade route is controlled by Thakali and mustang tribes. This trek will end either by driving to Muktinath to Tatopani to Pokhara.

After you arrive at Kathmandu International Airport, Trekking Guide Team Adventure’s representative will wait for you with a play card. Then they will help you to transfer to hotel. At hotel, you can just lighten up. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

On this day, you will enjoy the sightseeing tour. You will especially go around places listed in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Especially, you will go to Pashupatinath temple, a well-known Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva which is situated on the coast of the Bagmati River.

You will also visit Swayambhunath (Monkey temple) placed on the hill holds Buddha’s eyes on the four sides of the stupa. Boudhanath, another major Buddhist stupa on the earth. And finally, Patan Durbar Square which allures visitors with its cultural and historical sets carved with beautiful art and architecture. Overnight stay at Kathmandu.

This is the day when our actual trekking begins. We will drive to Chamje from Kathmandu by private car local bus beside Trishuli River and Marsyangdi River. It takes around 10 hours to reach Chamje. Before reaching Chamje we will also walk on a suspension bridge and carry on walking through a magnificent terrace farm to get to Ngadi community. Overnight at tea house.

Moving ahead from Jagat, we will walk further on to Danakyu lying at the altitude of 2300m. Also, we will pass by the set called Bagarchhap taking approximately an hour after passing fir and pines wooded area.

You can also make a trip to a white-colored Gompa (monastery). At Danakyu, we will get to see the eye-catching views of Mt. Manaslu and Peak 29. Overnight stay at the teahouse.

On this day, we will walk for around 5 hours to reach Chame. On the way, we will see the well-known Dudh Khola flowing from the south face of Mt Manaslu. Plus, we will notice the Marsyangdi swerving to the left side where dramatic peak sight of Annapurna II also enthralls you.

Then after, passing Fir woods, we will enter to the district headquarter of Manang district- Chame lying on the shore of river. Overnight at teahouse.

Our final point of this day is reaching Pisang lying at the altitude of3300m. We will start on walking early in the morning witnessing the amazing view of Lamjung Himal (6893m) along with the first rays of sun over the stunning peak is even more fascinating.

A marvelous waterfall becomes visible as we reach Brathang Village. Pisang is found in the heart of the Pisang peak. In addition, the views the north-east peak of Pisang, as well as Annapurna II, appears magnificent. Moreover, we will see a long Mani wall next to the bridge before reaching Pisang. Overnight at tea house.

On this day, we will trek to Ghyaru Village from Pisang. On the way, we will get to see fantastic views of Annapurna II and III. After that, we will stroll to Manang Village taking roughly 6 hours. On this day, we will also notice the breathtaking track full of grasslands.

The trail also bestows amazing vistas of the Annapurna Himalayan range. We will also ascend to the Nawal to arrest the best scene of Annapurna. Overnight at tea house.

We will rest in Manang village on this day to get properly accustomed to the high altitude and avoid altitude sickness.

Optionally, we can explore around Manang. Witnessing Gangapurna Lake, visiting mountaineering school which gives basic mountaineering training are the major attractions of the place. Overnight at a tea house.

We will head out through the western gates and follow the path down to the river. After crossing the river we will continue hiking towards the southern side through forests. We will reach Kangsar Village. From there we will trek further and reach Siri Kharka. We will pass a monastery on the way.

The uphill trek could be tiring. We will have great views of the Gungan Himal and Mount Chulu from this route. Overnight at teahouse.

Trek from Siri Kharka to Tilicho Base Camp is not very steep but it can be very exhausting as we will trek on narrow paths in the slide-prone area. We will have great views of rock formations along the trail. Overnight stay at the Tilicho Base Camp

The trek from Tilich base camp will have difficult accent which will continue reaching the watershed. We will enjoy great views of yaks and deer grazing. Finally, we will have magnificent views of Tilicho Lake at the foot of the north face of the Tilicho Peak.

The Lake holds an important place for the Hindus as this sacred lake is featured in one of the holiest texts of the Hindus, The Ramayana. After spending some time at the lake, we will return back to Siri Kharka. Overnight at teahouse.

We will descend towards the Khangsar Village today. We will pass Tare Gumba- a thousand-year-old monastery which is very important to the local people of the area. Reaching the Khangsar Village, we will see that it is unhabituated except for occasional herders during festival times.

You will trek following a rock wall out of Khangsar reaching a seasonal bridge in the Thorang Khola valley. After crossing the river we will be trekking until we reach Yak Kharka. Overnight teahouse.

Today we will make way up steadily to an edge and then move down to the Marsyangdi River. After that, we will traverse through a wooden bridge.

In addition, we have a slender track that move transversely to an uneven hill and after that ascends to Thorung La Phedi taking approximately 3 hours. Overnight at a tea house.

We will walk downward to the Marsyangdi River and pass through the river via a wooden bridge. Also, we will walk on the right coast of the river.

After that, we will have a track that turns slender and moves crossways from side to side with a shaky incline. Then after that, we walk down to Thorung La Pass lying at 5416m.

We will shift down to Muktinath meaning God of Salvation taking roughly 5 hours. Muktinath is regarded as a holy place for Buddhists as well as Hindus. Here you will observe water flowing from 108 fixed stone taps and a temple devoted to Lord Vishnu. Overnight at tea house. 

We will move from Muktinath to the resting Kali Gandaki valley, at first through the withered area. We will also pass by settlements like Khingar as well as Jharkot filled with typical Tibetan architecture.

We will be pleased with the magnificent views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri en-route.

Likewise, we will carry on walking through apple orchards before reaching Marpha. Then as a final point, we will walk to Jomsom, a big set expanded next to both shores of the Kali Gandaki River. Overnight at a tea house.

This day, you can come to Pokhara by local bus through Tatopani and Beni. It will take 6 hours. You will be in Pokhara, 3 to 4 pm. You will travel this whole day through bus in off road. Overnight in Pokhara.

After spending a memorable time in Pokhara, we will drive to Kathmandu which takes approximately 6 hours by a tourist bus. Today you can just relax in the hotel or go for shopping. Overnight in Kathmandu.

This is your last day in Nepal. You will leave Nepal with breathtaking memories and splendid time spent in the Annapurna Himalayan region. Our staff will transfer you to the airport for your departure.
