Overview of Chulu East Peak Climbing with Thorang-La – 23 Days

We will drive to Jagat from Kathmandu via Besisahar town to begin the peak climbing. Besides, we will also walk side by side with quite a few settlements of Syange. Then we will be leaving the Marsyangdi River, we will ascend to a small community of Jagat.

From Jagat, we will walk down to the Marsyangdi River and after that moves from side to side with a verdant forest to reach Dharapani. On the way, we will pass through dense wooded area of fir, oak, pine.

Here, the south face of Mt Manaslu set at the elevation of 8,163m will mesmerize us. We will then walk to Pisang situated in the center of the Pisang peak. It is one of the admired peaks to climb. Walking ahead from Julu, we will pass through vertical grazing land to an empty set where the pasture fuses with a rock.

We will then moves up to the place flanked by the Far East and East Peaks of Chulu. At the Chulu East base camp, we will be enthralled seeing fabulous views of Annapurna Himalaya range.

After we land at Kathmandu International Airport, our airport representative from Trekking Guide Team Adventure will welcome you. He will help you to transfer to the hotel. At the hotel, you can just relax. Overnight at Kathmandu.

On this day, you will prepare for trekking. You will need to carry the essentials like gears, harness, crampons, webbing, cord, ice axe with leash, sleeping bag, trekking poles, headwear, footwear and several other pieces of stuff. If you do not have these equipments, you need to go for shopping.

Our staff will help you get essential permits and papers for the expedition. In the meeting, you will have a pre-trek discussion with staffs or guides. Overnight at Kathmandu.

We will on this day drive to Jagat from Kathmandu via Besisahar town. On the way, you will get to enjoy the stunning views of Himalayans over green hills. Driving on a Prithivi Highway, we will also pass by Dumre from where we will head north to get to Besisahar.

Besisahar, headquarter of the Lamjung area is situated on the far west side from Kathmandu valley. Then, we will depart from Besisahar and follow the filthy road that goes down to Bhalam Khola.

Also, we will pass by sets like Khudi, Bhulbhule and Ngadi. Besides, we will also walk side by side with quite a few settlements of Syange and then leaving the Marsyangdi River, we will ascend to a small community of Jagat. Overnight in Jagat.

On this day, we will walk for approximately 5 hours to reach Dharapani from Jagat. The path moves down to the Marsyangdi River and then moves through a verdant forest. The path offers the attention-grabbing view of lofty Annapurna Himalayan ranges.

We will also walk on a slippery trail to Sattale. We will also walk passing settlements like Tal Karte, Tal Besi, and to get to Dharapani. Overnight with Dharapani.

On this day, we will hike up to Chame taking about 5 hours. On the way, we will pass through dense wooded area of fir, oak, pine. Plus, the south face of Mt Manaslu set at the altitude of 8,163m will mesmerize us.

We will see the Marsyangdi flowing to the left side where eye-catching peak sight of Annapurna II also becomes visible. Then after, we will we reach the district headquarter of Manang district- Chame lying on the shore of the river. Overnight at teahouse.

We will move ahead from Chame to reach Pisang lying at the elevation of 3300m. We will start walking early in the morning to observe the stunning sight of Lamjung Himal (6893m) and the sunrise view over the beautiful peak.

As we arrive at Brathangs village, a spectacular waterfall can be seen. We will traverse Marsyangdi River twice and trek from side to side with the rhododendron, pine and oak forests to get to Nuovo village.

Pisang is situated in the center of the Pisang peak which is one of the well-liked peaks to climb. Plus, the vistas the north-east peak of Pisang and Annapurna II will allure us. We will notice long Mani wall, before arriving at Pisang. Overnight at tea house.

On this day, we will walk for around 5 hours to reach Julu from Pisang. The path first takes us all along the Shore of Marsyangdi River. Then we will also walk through the wooded area to reach Ghyaru.

From Ghyaru, we will discern changed in vegetation as well as scenery around this region. The setting around Manang appears desolate with a chilly and dry climate. Then, trekking all along the Marsyangdi River, we will reach Julu village. Overnight at tented camp.

This is the day to rest in Julu to get properly adapted with lofty environment. You can either relax or hike around Julu as you can capture wonderful views of the snow-topped peaks here. Overnight at tented camp.

We will walk ahead from Julu and pass through vertical grazing land to a vacant set where the pasture fuses with a rock. We will ascend for an hour with a few steady portions and then moves up to the place flanked by the Far East and East Peaks of Chulu.

At the Chulu East base camp, we will be enthralled seeing fabulous views of Annapurna Himalaya range. Overnight at tented camp.

We today ascend to the high camp which is one of the challenging days of the trek. We will walk ahead from the base camp following snow slopes. On the way, we will climb up following the Chegaji River on the east shore.

Then finally we arrive at moraines beneath the col after around four hours of exhausting walk. As we reach at the Chulu East High Camp, we will feel the sentiment of reaching at the apex of the world. Overnight at tented camp.

To avoid altitude sickness and get accustomed with the high altitude, we will on this day rest at the high camp. Also, our guide will help us explore the area and will fix ropes where needed. Overnight at tented camp.

This is one of the significant days of the trek as we will reach to the summit of the Chulu East peak. We will walk up to the snow ridge to get the summit which is not much challenging.

At the summit, witnessing the great panoramic vistas of the adjacent snow topped mountains and the landscape of valley below will be the unforgettable part of the trek. We will then descend to the base camp. Overnight at tented camp.

We will trek back to Julu after experiencing the best part of the trek. It takes around 5 hours to reach Julu.Overnight ta Julu.

From Julu we will trek to Manang taking approximately 5 hours. The majestic views of the high snow topped peaks will mesmerize us on the way. We will walk passing the Braga village.

We will walk around Braga Monastery. In Manang village, we will also get to see beautiful Gangapurna Lake. It is the largest village in the district and holds beautiful thangkas, statues, and religious manuscripts. Overnight at tea house.

We will walk ahead from Manang passing through Ghunsang village. Then, we will make way up to Yak Kharka. Also, we will leave Tilicho track and move north walking next to the river bank of Gundon River.

After that, we will traverse the river and walk for some hours to get to a settlement of Yak Kharka which bestows the views of Annapurna III and Chulu Peak. Overnight at tea house.

Today we will make way up gradually to the periphery and then walk down to the Marsyangdi River. After that, we will pass through a wooden bridge. Also, we have a slender track that move crossways to a rough hill and after that ascend to Thorung Phedi taking approximately 3 hours.

And then trekking for another hour, we will walk to Thorung High Camp. Overnight at tea house.

We will move down to the Marsyangdi River and traverse the river via a wooden bridge. In addition, we will walk on the right shore of the river. Then, we will have a path that becomes slender and moves side to side with an unstable slant.

After that walk to Thorung La Pass lying at 5416m. In addition, we will trek to Muktinath meaning God of Salvation taking approximately 5 hours.

Muktinath is regarded as a sacred place for Buddhists as well as Hindus. Here you will see water flowing from 108 fixed stone taps and a temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Overnight at a tea house.

We will have an easy walk for around 4 hours on this day. We will move down passing the long-established Jharkot village. In Jharkot, we will get to see way of life and tradition of Thakali inhabitants who are different to Tibetans.

Walking ahead for some hours, we will reach Kagbeni village set in the valley of the Kali Gandaki River. Overnight at Kagbeni.

Departing from Kagbeni, we will walk to Jomsom taking around 4 hours. We will be pleased with wonderful views of Nilgiri and Dhaulagiri on the journey.

Similarly, we will carry on walking from side to side with apple orchards before getting to Marpha. We will also pass through Ekle Bhatti lying at 2,740 m. Then as the last point for this day, we will walk to Jomsom, a big set long-drawn-out next to both coast of the Kali Gandaki River.

Jomsom is the headquarter of Mustang district which holds apple orchards as well as apple products. Overnight at tea house.

We will fly to Pokhara from Jomsom by flight taking around 22 minutes. As we reach Pokhara, we can go for visiting the attractions at popular tourist areas like Gupteshore cave, Davi’s fall, famous Fewa Lake where you can enjoy boating etc.

Plus, the wonderful views of massiv Himalayas Annapurna range. We will also see Dhaulagiri and other nearby peaks will captivate you. Overnight in a hotel.

After spending memorable time in Pokhara, we will drive to Kathmandu enjoying the gigantic views of Himalayans on top of the top of green hills, which takes approximately 6 hours by a tourist bus. Today you can just relax in the hotel or go shopping. Overnight in Kathmandu.

Today we have a free day in Kathmandu. We will have an amazing sightseeing tour to Swayambhunath (Monkey temple) which is situated on the hill and the Stupa holds Buddha’s eyes on the four sides. We will also make a trip to Boudhanath, perhaps one of the largest stupas in the world.

Also, we will visit Pashupatinath temple located at the bank of holy Bagmati River and here you can notice the cremation rituals of Hindus.

We will also walk around the beautiful Durbar Squares of Patan and Kathmandu where you will usually see a number of temples carved beautifully with wonderful arts. Overnight at the hotel.

This is your last day in Nepal. You will leave Nepal with wonderful memories and splendid time spent in the Annapurna Himalayan region. Our staff will transfer you to the airport for your departure.
