Additional Info

Consult-With-Trekking-Expert

  • Lukla Flight information:

The EBC trek begins with an early morning flight to Lukla, either from Kathmandu Airport or Ramechhap Airport. It is a short but beautiful flight with stunning Himalayan mountain views. From Lukla, we will begin trekking with porters and descend to Phakding for the night stay. The trail goes through forests and small villages, offering stunning views of mountains like Kongde Ri and Chamlang.

*Note: If you take a Lukla flight from Ramechhap Airport, you will leave the hotel in Kathmandu around 1:00 AM and dive to the Ramechhap airport in sharing bus. During the peak trekking seasons, the Lukla flights get shifted to Ramechhap Airport because of very high air traffic.

  • Everest View Trek Difficulty and Altitude Sickness:

The Everest view trek difficulty is easy/moderate. It is a very doable trek in the Himalayas that all ages of trekkers can do. The trek does not see a very high altitude, so the risk of altitude sickness is low. It is also a short trek, so you do not spend much time in the mountains.

Even though every day walking is 6 hours, you will be able to manage it because of the short itinerary. Likewise, the tourist infrastructure along the Everest view trail is excellent. You will get both budget-friendly to luxury options with many modern amenities.

The trekking route goes through forests. You will cross suspension bridges. The terrain is rugged. The trail from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is a bit demanding because of the steep uphill climb. Other than that, you will not find the Everest view trek any difficult.

Even though the risk of altitude sickness is quite low on this trek, you still have to be careful of it and follow the high altitude rules. First thing, be aware of these symptoms- vomiting, insomnia, headache, nausea, difficulty in breathing, etc.

If you see these symptoms, inform your guide and take first aid. To prevent altitude sickness, we advise trekkers to keep themselves hydrated during the trek. Likewise, you should also maintain your pace and get plenty of rest to recover your body after long walks.

Best Time to do the Everest View Trek:

To trek in the Everest region, you will need stable weather and a mild climate. Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) have the best weather conditions. Trekkers get to see stunning mountain views in these seasons because the sky is mostly clear.

The trekking route is bloomed with rhododendrons and many other flowers and vegetation. Likewise, the rivers and streams are full of water. The overall environment is quite wonderful as trekkers from around the world visit the Everest region in these two seasons.

  • Everest view trek in winter (December to February):

The Everest view trek is also possible in the winter seasons. However, you may see delays and cancellations of Lukla flights because of poor weather. The trekking route is empty, so you will get to enjoy tranquility. If you are well dressed up, the cold will not affect you that much.

The winter landscape is phenomenal, and very few trekkers get to see it. If you are planning to do the Everest view trek in the winter season, we highly recommend you have at least 1-2 buffer days. Do not do a rush trek in this season.

  • Everest view trek in summer/monsoon (June to August)

Summer/monsoon is the worst time for the Everest view trek. It is possible to do this trek between June to August, but the weather hurdles are way too many. The trek is slippery and muddy. The mountains are blocked most of the time. Likewise, there is also a high risk of landslides.

On a good note, it is also an off-season, like winter, so the trails are empty, and the price of accommodation is low. Similarly, the vegetation, rivers, streams, and waterfalls are teeming. The Lukla flights are affected because of unpredictable weather.

Accommodation and Meals During the Trek:

The accommodation on the Everest view trek is a three-star hotel in Kathmandu and lodges along the trek route. You will spend nights in Lukla, Phakding, and Namche Bazaar. We will book you the best accommodation with a private washroom in all the villages.

Rooms are usually twin-shared, so if you need a single room, inform us ahead. There will be an extra charge for a single room. Do note that we will do our best to book rooms with a private washroom, but you may not get private washrooms in some places.

Western-style toilets are also available in these villages. Charging, hot shower, and WiFi may cost you a few extra bucks, so carry Nepali currency with you. There are ATMs in Lukla and Namche Bazaar where you can withdraw money.

For food, you will get a wide range of variety during the Everest view trekking. From the classic dal bhat to woodfire pizza, the options are limitless. Our Everest view trek package includes simple meals, but you are free to buy whatever food you wish to have on your own.

Likewise, drinking water is also available everywhere. You will get boiled water at USD 1 to USD 2 per bottle, which is very cost-effective than buying plastic water bottles. You can carry snacks for the journey. Buy in Kathmandu because everything is high in the mountains.

Travel Insurance for Everest View Trek:

Even though the risk of any adverse situation is very low on the Everest view trek, we still suggest our trekkers buy travel insurance that covers emergency air evacuation. You can travel much more confidently with travel insurance. Before the trek starts, you have to give your travel insurance documents to us. We will use it to provide you with prompt rescue in case any emergency arises.
