On this day, we'll drive from Kathmandu to Sotikhola at 6:30 a.m. The Tsum Valley trek starts from a small village Soti Khola, located a few Kilometers away from Arughat. On the first day of the trek, you will drive from Kathmandu to Soti Khola via Arughat, which will take around 6-7 hours, during which you can enjoy the views of hills, forests, Trishuli river, terraced fields, small villages and many more. Driving past the small villages, you will arrive at Soti Khola, which offers beautiful views of the snow-capped pinnacles. You can soak in the views and rest after arriving at your lodge

Your trekking journey officially begins today as you move from Soti Khola to Maccha Khola. At the beginning of the trek, you will cross the suspension bridge over the Soti Khola and continue to trek through the lush Sal forest making your way to the village of Liding, followed by Khursane to Lapubesi and then to Nauli Khola crossing a suspension bridge and walking along the Budi Gandaki River. As your destination gets closure, you will pass through a narrow, steep and rocky gorge which can be quite challenging to walk, but the views from the gorge are worth it.

In short, on the first day of your Tsum Valley trek, you will cross several suspension bridges, walk past Gurung village, see terraced fields and enjoy the rich landscape of the region.

On the second day of your trekking, you will pass through the rich landscape, enjoying the ascending and descending journey. Crossing Thado Khola and walking past the village of Khorlabesi, you arrive at Tatopani, the spot for natural hot spring water. The trail ahead from Tatopani is quite challenging as you will walk on a stone staircase, cross the landslide area and suspension bridge, and continue the uphill and downhill journey along the Budi Gandaki River before arriving at Jagat.

At Jagat, you will register your permits for Manaslu and Tsum Valley at the checkpoint and continue your journey to Lokpa. Today's trek is scenic and passes through the terraced hillside and village settlements of Salleri, Sirdibas, and Philim. Enjoying the views of the Himalayas, you enter Ekle Bhatti, register at the checkpoint and continue to walk alongside the Budi Gandaki River to arrive at Lokpa.
From Lokpa, you can enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains and soak in the tranquil atmosphere.

The Lokpa to Chumling trek initially descents to the Lungwa River valley and then passes through the lush forest of rhododendron and juniper and the small village settlement of Gumling. Ahead on the trail from Gumling, you will walk along the Shiar Khola to arrive at Chumling. Upon arriving at Chumling, you can visit three different monasteries, Panago Gumba, Mani Dhungyur Gumba and Gurwa Gumba located in the area.

You will also see Gumbas with magnificently pained Buddhist murals. From Chhule, Nile is just 20 minute walk after crossing a suspension bridge on the Shair Khola to arrive at the Nile village.

Mu Gompa is the largest monastery in the region, which is worth a visit as it exhibits several religious books, the statue of Avalokiteshwara and portraits of Padmasambhava and Tara. Apart from Mu Gompa, there are other several beautiful monasteries like Rikang Gumba, Dhephu Gumba and Nunnery.
