The Tamang Heritage Trail takes you through verdant midlands of Nepal experiencing the beauty of this mountain region and the culture of the people who live here. The trekking trail passes through traditional Tamang villages where life, culture, and crafts have remained unchanged since the beginning of the settlement. The Tamang people are believed to be migrants from Tibet and the Himalayan regions of tibet and china. Their ancestral land is called Lhasa. They are the aborigines of Tibet. Tamangs are the largest Tibeto-Burman ethnic group within Nepal. Their languages are the fifth most spoken language in Nepal.

Tamang people follow the religious views of Nyingma tradition of Vajrayana Buddhism, the earliest form of Buddhism. Tamangs are the largest population who follow Buddhism in Nepal. Tamang people have built gompas (monasteries) in every sizeable village. Every Tamang family has their special Buddhist Yidam to practice every morning. There exists the honorific term Lama (honorific), assigned to all Tamangs regardless of their kinship clan. They are not to be confused with Lama of Tibet or the Sherpa Lama Surname and clan.

The Warm traditional welcome hosted by locals, their elaborate costumes ,rich architecture of their mountain house, and the ancient monasteries and places of pray add color to the experience of this trekking . In addition to the culture experience, the trek also offers wilderness experience through beautiful landscapes of alpine terrain, flat meadows, and rhododendron forests. Tamang Heritage Trek starts from Syabrubensi and also ends in Syabrubensi.

Main Attraction: Take bath in natural hot spring at totapani Enjoy views of mountains in the Langtang region, Ganesh Himal, experience the Tamang culture in this village. Panoramic view of Langtang Himal on way, watch cultural shows and lifestyle of Tamang community.
