Khayar Lake Trek - 12 Days

After your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by our office representative. He will transfer to the hotel by tourist bus or car according to your preference.

We will have sightseeing in Kathmandu on this day. You will visit some of the main spots enlisted in UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Especially, you will go to Pashupatinath temple, a renowned Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located on the coast of the Bagmati River.

Swayambhunath (Monkey temple) located on the hill holds Buddha’s eyes on the four sides of the stupa.

Boudhanath, another major Buddhist stupa on the earth. And finally Patan Durbar Square which allures visitors with its antique royal palace where the Malla Kings of Lalitpur once resided. Overnight at Kathmandu.

After having breakfast in the hotel you will be taken to the bus or car to the Pokhara which takes nearly 6-7 hours. On the way to Pokhara via Prithivi highway offers you the beautiful scene.

We also do offer you the flight to Pokhara which nearly takes 30-35 minutes from Kathmandu. And stay overnight in the city of lakes “Pokhara”. Enjoy the beautiful evening at the Fewa lake and lakeside area.

After having breakfast at the hotel we head towards Nayapul driving for half an hour. We move forward to our destination passing Tikhedhunga via birethanti at the elevation of 1065 meters.

The trek passes through small typical village of Mongolian society and settlements. Then we spent overnight at Tikhedhunga.

On the sixth day, you will reach to Goherepani which is one of the most famous and beautiful places in Nepal. It serves with the majestic panoramic view where you reach after trekking for approximately 6 hours.

During the trek to Ghorepani, you get a chance to see the tallest mountain like Machhapuchre (fishtail), Hinchuli Annapurna South. The trek goes easier while passing through the forest of rhododendron and shadowy trees. It makes you easier to climb towards Ghorepani village of Mongolian community.

After having breakfast from Ghorepani Village we head towards poon hill station. The Poonhill station serves you with a beautiful view of sunrise.

It also offers you the beautiful view of Annapurna Massive like Mount Dhaulagiri, Tukuche Peak, Nilgiri, Varaha Shikar, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Annapurna II, Annapurna III, Annapurna IV, Lmgunh Himal and many other snowcapped mountains in the morning.

While walking down you reach to the Swanta Village. The beautiful flowers bloom and make the forest colorful which adds more charm to our journey.

After having the breakfast we cross a stream and start to ascend all the way to Khorpa ridge. During the trek, you get a chance to explore the beautiful rhododendron forest. Here you can enjoy the facilities like telephone, internet and get prepared for tomorrow’s trek to Khayar Lake.

Kharyar Lake, which is pilgrimage destination, is the final destination of our trip we reach here after having the breakfast and pack your lunch. The lake is worshiped by Hindu people.

The trek not only offers you the view of the lake but also with the Machhapuchre (fishtail) and Annapurna South. The animal-like goat and sheep are sacrifice ceremonies is done in full moon day which is mainly done in July. Furthermore, the yak blood drinking festival in khayar baraha area is equally popular.

After trekking, the higher trial straight above the Khopra Hill. Enjoying the colorful bloom of forest covered with different flowers including rhododendron.

You pass through the Kali Gandaki River and Majestic River. There are two paths while returning from the trek but lower path is comparatively icier. The lower path is quiet longer than the upper one with lower and upper hills but it is safe.

While returning from the trek we pass through a downhill walk through forest. We keep on continuing and reach to Tadapani village. The Tadapani village is touristy junction it offers beautiful mountains like Hinchuli, Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre (fishtail).

After having lunch we again follow the path of beautiful forest and reach to biggest settlement of Gurung village. You can here interact with the villagers and explore their culture and tradition. And it also offers the magnified view of mountains.

Enjoying the scenic beauty of Annapurna South, Hinchuli, fishtail we walk downhill. Following the Modi Khola, we leave the khayar lake trek, till we reach Nayapul and the vehicles will pick you from there and drop you to Phewa lake.

After having the breakfast you will travel at bus and reach at Kathmandu which takes 6-7 hours by tourist bus or you also can demand for flight if you wish to which takes you 30-35 minutes from Pokhara. Get chance to spend last night at Pokhara.
