Bouddhanath Stupa

Boudhanath is one of the biggest Stupas of the world. Boudhanath is the center of Tibetan Buddhism in Nepal. It is built in the shape of a mandala designed to replicate the Gyangtse of Tibet. The location of the stupa is on the ancient trade route to Tibet. The inspiring white dome is always filled with energy. People light a butter lamp and send prayer. There a lot of souvenirs shop to look around for souvenirs. You observe all this from nearby rooftop restaurants. There more than 50 gompas or Tibetan convent around Boudhanath.

Swayambhunath

Swayambhunath also known as monkey temple is said to have evolved spontaneously when the valley was created out of an ancient lake more than 2,000 years ago. It said that Manjushri saw a lotus flower in the center of the lake, which emitted brilliant radiance. He then cut a gorge at Chovar with his flaming sword to allow the lake to drain. The place where the lotus flower settled became the great Swayambhunath Stupa and the valley thus became habitable. There are a lot of monasteries around swayambhu. The fluttering of prayer flags, the rows of prayer wheels around the hill brings peace to your soul.

Patan Durbar Square

The valley also has three main historic places, Kathmandu Durbar square, Patan Durbar square and. In All these places you can observe the architecture of medieval Nepal. These palaces have been turned into museums where you can observe the historical artifacts of ancient Nepalese culture, kingdoms, royal family etc. These palaces are perfect example of famous Nepalese pagoda style architecture.
