Tsum Valley, located at the altitude of 1905 to 5093 meters, is one of the fascinating trekking trail in Nepal. It is also known as the ‘Hidden Valley’ which boasts Baudha Himal and Himal Chuli to the west, Ganesh Himal to the south and Sringi Himal to the north. This trek (Tsum Valley Trekking) includes two remote villages development committee Chhekampar (Upper Tsum) and Chumchet (Lower Tsum). The place is untouched by modernization where visitors can see immaculate state and remoteness and ancient ruins.


The famous Kyimo Lung, a pilgrimage circuit in the central Trans-Himalaya, is well known for its centers of learning Buddhism and meditation.


The Tsum Valley’s acquaintance with Tibet, natural beauty and its pristine culture make the trekking unique in this place. The local people are mostly of Tibetan origin and speak a unique dialect. Trails are strewn with many walls made of thousands of stone slabs carved with deities and prayers. The Tsum Valley has a long history of Buddhism.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
On arrival in Kathmandu international airport meet our Trekking Guide Team staff and guides for the transfer to respective hotels in the centre of Kathmandu at Thamel area, where you will have time for shopping and preparation for the trip to Mustang.


Day 02: In Kathmandu with sightseeing tour. (B)
Morning our guide will pick you from the hotel for sightseeing tour in and around Kathmandu city, as Kathmandu-Patan within the valley is full of world heritage sites visit the holy Hindu Pashupatinath temple and Bouddhanath also know as little Tibet; these are listed in world heritage, afternoon preparation for the trip to Tsum valley.


Day 03: Drive to Arughat 600m – 06hr journey. (B/L/D)
An interesting drive in the early morning leading on the one and only busy highway, after few hours reaching at Malekhu town nearby Trisuli River, from here our route diverts to Dhading Besi the drive continues from here till Arughat bazaar is reached for overnight stop, Arughat a large village with many shops and lodges.


Day 04: Trek to Liding via Soti Khola 730m – 05hr. (B/L/D)
Our first day walk starts following Buri Gandaki River further upstream, trekking past many farm houses and into sal tree forest with superb views of Ganesh Himal at 7,118 m and of Mt. Ganesh IV at 7,104 meters, walk continues on the pleasant trail with few ups and downs river to reach Arkhet Bazaar, from here walk leads to a climb to our overnight stop at Liding near Soti Khola.


Day 05: Trek to Machha khola 930m – 05 hr. (B/L/D)
Starting the morning trekking with a gradual downhill towards a river side coming to several farm houses, then walking on steps over Nauli Khola (stream) looking across beautiful waterfalls and to Khanigaon, from here few hours of walk leading at a bridge to cross Machha khola then reaching at Machha Khola village.


Day 06: Trek to Jagat 1410m – 06 hr. (B/L/D)
Morning walk continues leading along Buri Gandaki River then reaching a small village of Khorlabeshi from here with a slow winding trail to Tatopani with natural hot spring water in the middle of forested area, after a rest here trek continues towards Dovan and Yaruphant villages by the Buri Gandaki River and after leading to cross a short bridge to reach at Jagat village for overnight halt, this is a moderate size village with many shops and lodges.


Day 07: Trek to Lakpa 2040m via Ekle Bhatti 2208m – 06 hr. (B/L/D)
From here onwards walking towards higher area as the air gets cooler walking uphill at first following the Buri Gandaki River through few farm villages and then reaching at Sidibas Bazaar, here cross a bridge and reach Philim village, after a rest here walk continues passing farm terrace fields of wheat, barley with millets crops and from here leading to a climb on a rocky top then reaching at Lakpa village for overnight stop near at Ekle bhatti village this place has few lodges.


Day 08: Trek to Chumling 2386m – 06 hr. (B/L/D)
Morning walk after this pleasant small village leads towards in between Ganesh and Manaslu mountains leaving the Buri Gandkai River behind for many days till return journey, walking into our destination at Tsum valley leading through a narrow gorge and then with a descend to Tsum Valley, as the walk continues our route climbs into pines and rhododendron tree forest and finally reaching a bridge over Lungwa Khola from here a gradual trekking to Chumling village for the overnight stop, this is the gateway to Tsum Valley.


Day 09: Trek to Chokhangparo 3010m – 05 hr. (B/L/D)
After a lovely morning on the road to mystical valley of Tsum with amazing panorama of surrounding snow peaks of Boudha, Manaslu, Himalchuli in the western region and Ganesh Himal towards North East, walk begins with a downhill to cross a bridge and heading to the opposite side of Smatiking Khola.
Around this region looking at magnificent views of Ganesh Himal trek continues to our overnight stop at Chokhangparo village.


Day 10: Trek to Nile 3361m via Milarepa cave – 06 hr. (B/L/D)
From here on one can feel a great difference as this region has more Tibetan influence with its age old culture, tradition and Buddhist religion, Chokhangparo, village is one of the few example of Tibetan like, morning walk starting with a gradual climb to a small top ridge, then arriving at Lamagaon, here one can visit the famous Milarepa cave ( Milarepa was born around 11th century a Tibetan saint, poet and a guru was born and breed around Lantang region and Kyarung area just near the frontier of Nepal and Tibet) an interesting walk to Chi Pu Gompa.
After exploring the ancient religious and cultural places, walk towards a bridge to the overnight halt at Nile which is last large village of this Upper Tsum valley.

Day 11: Trek to Mu Gompa 3700m – 04 hr. (B/L/D)

Today an easy leisure walk for half day to Mu Gompa heading along the bank of Syar River then through the Tibetan landscapes with arid and arid terrain, trek leading to an uphill to Mu Gompa for overnight halt and lunch with ample time to explore this surrounding amazing area and a visit to its very interesting and fascinating old monastery this spot is on the route to Tibet border which is mere few days walk.


Day 12: Trek to Rachen Gompa 3240m – 05 hr. (B/L/D)
After being in this magnificent valley with awesome scenery and interesting monastery and religious sites, our morning walk morning walk heading back towards Chhule and Phurbe village, walking along the eastern bank of Shiar Khola. Enjoying the walk with fabulous surrounding scenery after a pleasant trekking of around five hours reaching at Rachen Gompa for overnight halt, visit the nearby monastery which has a nunnery and one of the largest Gompa of this area.


Day 13: Trek toDumje 2440 m via Chumling 2386 m– 06 hr. (B/L/D)
From this mystical amazing country, our walk leads following the same route after Rachen Gompa, then continue walking with a long downhill to Chhokang Paro again, after a nice stop here walk continues with a descend to reach a bridge over Sarpu Khola, after the suspension bridge walk continues with a long downhill to Chumling village and to Dumje village for overnight halt, Dumje near Chumling a small and pleasant village with fantastic views of surrounding landscapes and of giant towering snow capped peaks.


Day 14: Trek to Gumba Lungdang 3200m – 05 hr. (B/L/D)
As the walk continues it’s descend loosing much altitude but still being within Tsum valley for the last night at Gumba Lungdang, trekking on the winding downhill path most of the way with fabulous scenery of snow capped peaks of Manaslu and Ganesh Himal range of mountains, slowly the walk approaches a small village of Gumba Lungdang for the last overnight in Tsum valley.


Day 15: Trek to Ripchet 2468m – 06 hr. (B/L/D)
After this small pleasant village will be the last of this mystical Tsum valley, morning trekking carry’s on with more downhill reaching towards warm region following the river towards Lokpa village, after a good stop for a while, trekking on the winding downhill with views of fabulous waterfalls, and then reaching Samba, Tingding Chhupyang village until Ripchet for overnight halt after a good walk for about six hours this village is close to Philim village.

Day 16: Trek to Dobhan 1070m – 05 hr. (B/L/D)
Morning walk from here leads to warmer area as the altitude drops with dramatic change in landscapes and vegetation and back to tree lines with paddy fields, after few hours of good walk reaching at Buri Gandaki River, and then passing several farm village of Nagjet, Sidibas Bazaar and Jagat, walk continues losing elevation reaching a nice village of Yaruphant and to Dobhan for overnight stop which is close to Tatopani with natural hot springs.

Day 17:
 Trek to Soti khola 720m – 06 hr. (B/L/D)
From this nice farm village walk continues to follow Burigandaki river downstream all the way, walking through nice pleasant forest and farm lands reaching at Labubesi a Gurung tribe village, after a ice break here continue walk on the gradual winding path through terraced farm fields and views of beautiful waterfalls and then finally reaching at Soti khola for overnight halt after a good 5-6 hours of walks.


Day 18: Trek to Arughat 600m – 06 hr. (B/L/D)
The final day of this overwhelming journey and the last walk of this amazing trip,
morning walk is pleasant following Budi Gandaki River downstream passing into thick forest of Sal trees. Trekking along the river side to pass the village of Arkhet  Bazaar with magnificent views of Mt. Ganesh II at 7,118 m and Ganesh IV at 7,104 meters. After a good day walk finally reaching at Arughat bazaar after 5-6 hours of nice pleasant and enjoying the last day trekking of this amazing trip.


Day 19: Drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel. (B)
Morning preparation for the drive back to Kathmandu, after a hearty breakfast board on the bus or jeeps depending upon the group size, the drive leads to the other side of Burigandaki and continue drive with interesting scenery of villages and farm fields and the then reaching at Dhadingbesi, from here few hours’ drive leads towards Trisuli River and on the main Kathmandu highway at near Malekhu, journey continues for another two hours till Kathmandu is reached after the most memorable time in the high amazing Tsum valley with Trekking Guide Team great service.


Day 20: In Kathmandu free day for extra activities. (B)
A free day in Kathmandu depending upon the booking for extra sightseeing tour, our city and cultural guide will pick you from the hotel for sightseeing tour at places of interest as Kathmandu valley is full of world heritage sites, afternoon last day shopping for souvenirs.


Day 21: International departure. (B)
Final day in Nepal with wonderful memories and overwhelming time in the high hill of Annapurna Himalaya range with Trekking Guide Team excellent service, depending upon the flight time our guide or staff will transfer you to airport for your departure for homeward bound.

This is a moderate trek of Nepal and do not require any special training or condition. However, you should be fit and should have walking practice. I recommend you to go for morning walks for practice. Many people are able to do this trek easily and you can also do this trek easily. You have to walk everyday 6 to 7 hour, 15 to 20 km.
